    CED Focus on Health Inequalities – Oral Health for All

    All Europeans, regardless of their socio-economic status, are entitled to proper healthcare. This includes oral health which cannot be neglected as it is connected to essentially every aspect of our lives.  Problems with oral health can affect our ability to taste, chew and eat, as well as to smile and speak, and impact on everything from our general health to our capacity to communicate and function in our personal and professional roles.

    Policymakers, health professionals, academics and representatives of healthcare organisations had a chance to discuss this at the CED event “Health Inequalities – Oral Health for All” at the European Parliament on 19 June 2017, hosted by MEP Nessa Childers.

    Council of European Dentists publishes Resolution on Dental Practice and Third Parties in Europe

    The Council of European Dentists is concerned about the growth of third party payers in the field of provision of dental care and treatment and its implications for oral health policy. The CED has therefore passed a resolution that sets out some important principles and policies which prioritise the welfare of patients and respect the ethical and professional responsibilities and rights of the dental profession.
