The Council of European Dentists (CED) will celebrate the European Oral Health Day on 12 September 2015.
This year's Day will be an opportunity for the CED to focus on the theme of oral cancer. Oral cancer includes cancers of the lip, tongue and oral cavity. It is the 10th most common cancer in Europe, with around 75,000 new cases diagnosed each year in the EU. Incidence is still higher in men than in women. The disease remains highly lethal and very aggressive and is one of the most disfiguring of all cancers.
